There are some Led Zeppelin songs that are more enjoyable in studio that live, this is one of them, specially the eastern sounds of the keys in the background. The studio version highlights that, but Robert Plant’s voice and vocals makes it very mystic. Also the drums are majestic. You guys, definitely need to revisit the studio version, you’ll thank me!!

Carol, you are exactly correct on the meaning of the song and the difference between this and Comfortably Numb. Comfortably Numb is a very personal experience by one person which may not be relatable to everyone. Lyrically.High Hopes is more universally relatable. We all go through these experiences in our life, the hopes and dreams of our youth and the regrets we face in our later years of what we may have missed or what life has become. I saw them twice on this tour and I was in my late 20's. I loved the song and understood its meaning, but now in my late 50's the song has a much deeper meaning. Great reaction!! Looking for another Pink Floyd song...just pick anything from that concert, you cannot go wrong.

The effect of 'Yes' is everlasting - don't bother trying to decipher Jon's vocals, he uses his voice as an additional instrumental layer at times.
